About this part
What it is and why it is made that way
A bellows protects a moving part while letting it move. These moulded boots and bellows are made in the elastomer that suits the environment — coolant-resistant, oil-resistant or a high-temperature grade — and are moulded with the convolutions sized so they do not bottom out under the travel they were designed for.
