About this part

What it is and why it is made that way

Turned parts are made on a lathe, which is the right process when the part is a body of revolution — a collar, a nut, an adapter. We turn the part, cut the thread and control the runout so the part actually seats. Nut thickness is held across the flats rather than the corners, which is what makes a nut turn smoothly onto its bolt.

  • Turned on CNC lathes with live tooling where the process allows
  • Threads cut to the specified standard and class
  • Nut thickness held across the flats to within 0.05 mm
  • Metric, imperial and UNC/UNF available
