About this part
What it is and why it is made that way
Investment casting exists for shapes that other processes cannot hold — a bracket that changes section, turns through an angle and carries a bore all at once. The wax model is made to the drawing, the shell is built around it and the metal fills the cavity, so the form survives into the finished part. The critical features are then machined.
