About this part

What it is and why it is made that way

A collet or clamp works by gripping, and the gripping profile has to be consistent or the part will slip. The body is investment cast to capture the shape, and the gripping surfaces are then machined — sometimes in several steps — so the geometry is identical from one collet to the next.

  • Gripping profile machined for consistent geometry
  • Split clamp bodies machined as matched pairs
  • Sliding surfaces lapped where specified
  • Tooling developed against a customer drawing

  • Stainless 304 / 316L
