About this part

What it is and why it is made that way

Linkage parts only work as a set. Investment casting gives each arm its form, and the bores are machined so that a matched set moves through its travel without binding or slop. Where a linkage is supplied assembled, the parts are checked against each other before it is packed.

  • Bores machined for matched sets — no slop in the assembly
  • Available supplied and checked as an assembly
  • Form reproduced from the drawing or model
  • Stainless, bronze and alloy steel options

Materials

  • Stainless 304 / 316L
  • Carbon steel 1045 / 4140
  • Alloy steel 17-4PH
  • Bronze and brass (CuSn10, CuZn37)
  • Aluminium A356

Production processes

  • Investment casting (lost wax)
  • Lost-wax casting
  • Shell moulding
  • Deburring and shot blasting
  • CNC finish machining

Typical applications

  • Linkage arms and connecting levers
  • Control linkages
  • Suspension linkages
  • Machine actuating linkages
