About this part

What it is and why it is made that way

The reason to replace a stamped bracket with an investment casting is usually tolerance or shape. A casting holds a complex form and holds its position, and the fixing holes are machined after casting so the part drops onto the existing tooling without adjustment.

  • Fixing hole positions machined to ±0.05 mm
  • Complex form reproduced from the model
  • Flatness held on the mounting face
  • Stainless and alloy steel grades with certificate

Materials

  • Stainless 304 / 316L
  • Carbon steel 1045 / 4140
  • Alloy steel 17-4PH
  • Bronze and brass (CuSn10, CuZn37)
  • Aluminium A356

Production processes

  • Investment casting (lost wax)
  • Lost-wax casting
  • Shell moulding
  • Deburring and shot blasting
  • CNC finish machining

Typical applications

  • Precision mounting brackets
  • Standoffs and spacers
  • Sensor and instrument brackets
  • Medical and instrument mounting
